OEM Tools Organizer Set – Magnetic Tray, Socket Trays & Tilt Bins

★★★★★4.8/5· thousands of reviews

Our magnetic tray features a high-strength base that secures nuts, bolts, washers, and small parts while you work. The 6-inch stainless steel dish prevents rust and corrosion in any shop environment, keeping critical fasteners exactly where you place them during automotive repairs, assembly projects, or detailed maintenance work.

The rubberized base protects work surfaces from scratches while providing slip-resistant stability on metal toolboxes, benches, and engine compartments. We designed this tray to hold up to 2 pounds of ferrous metal parts, making it essential for brake jobs, engine teardowns, and any task where losing a single bolt means starting over.

  • 6-inch diameter stainless steel magnetic dish
  • Holds up to 2 lbs of nuts, bolts, and fasteners
  • Rubberized non-slip base protects surfaces
  • Rust-resistant construction for long-term durability
  • Low-profile design fits in tight workspaces

Materials & Construction Quality

Materials & Construction Quality

We manufacture the OEM Tools magnetic tray from grade 304 stainless steel that resists oxidation even when exposed to brake fluid, coolant, and cutting oils commonly found in automotive environments. The magnetic base uses neodymium magnets embedded in a protective rubber coating that prevents surface damage when placed on painted toolboxes or aluminum work surfaces.

The socket trays feature injection-molded ABS plastic with 3mm wall thickness, providing structural integrity that prevents cracking when dropped from bench height. We designed the ball detent mechanism with stainless steel springs rated for 50,000 insertion cycles, ensuring consistent socket retention throughout years of daily use.

Storage Capacity & Organization

Storage Capacity & Organization

Magnetic Tray Capacity

The 6-inch diameter tray provides 28 square inches of magnetic surface area, sufficient for a complete brake caliper bolt set, transmission pan fasteners, or 40-50 standard washers. The 1-inch depth prevents small parts from rolling out during movement while maintaining easy visibility of contents.

Socket Tray Layout

Our socket organizers accommodate 72 sockets total across all three trays: 24 positions on the 1/4-inch drive tray, 24 on the 3/8-inch tray, and 24 on the 1/2-inch tray. Each position fits both shallow and deep sockets in corresponding drive sizes, with size markings clearly visible even under poor lighting conditions similar to those encountered when working near equipment like our shop fan units in dimly lit service bays.

Installation & Mounting

Installation & Mounting

The magnetic tray requires no installation—simply place it on any ferromagnetic surface or use the rubberized base for freestanding stability on non-metallic benches. The low-profile design allows placement inside open toolbox drawers alongside items stored on nearby tool carts without interfering with drawer operation.

Socket trays fit toolbox drawers with minimum interior heights of 2 inches and widths of 12 inches for individual trays or 36 inches when organizing all three trays side-by-side. We recommend securing trays with drawer liner material to prevent sliding during mobile toolbox transport.

Magnetic tray is stronger than expected
I've used this OEM Tools magnetic tray daily for three months during engine rebuilds and it's never dropped a single bolt. The magnet holds parts firmly even when I'm leaning over the tray or bumping the workbench. The stainless steel cleans up perfectly after every oil-covered job.

Socket trays saved me hours of searching
Before these trays, I wasted so much time digging through mixed socket drawers. Now every socket has its spot and the size markings are clear enough to read without glasses. The spring detents hold sockets securely but release easily when I need them.

Tilt bins work great for fastener storage
We mounted two sets of these bins in our shop and they've completely organized our bolt inventory. The tilt-out design beats traditional bins because I can grab parts without opening lids or removing containers. I wish each bin held slightly more volume but they're perfect for most hardware.

Quality storage at a reasonable price
I compared this set to higher-priced organizers and the OEM Tools version matches their quality at half the cost. The magnetic tray's rubber base protects my toolbox finish and the socket trays fit perfectly in my cart drawers without wasting space.

Rugged enough for professional shop use
Our team puts shop equipment through brutal daily use and this organizer set has held up flawlessly for eight months. The socket trays have survived multiple drops from waist height and the tilt bins still operate smoothly despite constant opening and closing.

Perfect starter set for organizing my garage
I bought this set when setting up my home workshop and it immediately brought order to my chaotic parts situation. The magnetic tray lives on my bench for active projects while the socket trays and bins keep everything else sorted. Excellent value for what you get.

Questions About the OEM Tools Organizer Set

The magnetic tray only attracts ferrous metals like steel and iron fasteners. Aluminum, titanium, stainless steel (most grades), brass, and copper parts will not stick to the magnetic surface.

For non-magnetic parts, we recommend using the included tilt bins which provide secure compartmentalized storage for any material type regardless of magnetic properties.

Our socket trays accommodate both standard chrome hand sockets and impact sockets in their corresponding drive sizes. The ball detents grip the socket's drive hole regardless of the socket's overall length or wall thickness.

Deep impact sockets may extend above the tray surface more than shallow sockets, but they remain securely held in position during drawer movement and normal handling.

We strongly recommend mounting the tilt bin frame directly into wall studs using lag screws for the full 15-pound weight capacity. Drywall anchors may support the empty frame but will likely fail when bins are loaded with heavy hardware.

If stud locations don't align with your desired placement, consider installing a horizontal backing board across multiple studs, then mounting the frame to that reinforced surface.

The 1/4-inch drive tray holds sockets from 4mm to 14mm (or 5/32" to 9/16" SAE). The 3/8-inch drive tray accommodates 6mm to 24mm (or 1/4" to 1" SAE). The 1/2-inch drive tray fits 8mm to 36mm (or 5/16" to 1-7/16" SAE).

These ranges cover the most common socket sizes used in automotive and general mechanical work. Specialty extra-large sockets may exceed tray capacity.

Wipe the magnetic tray surface with a shop rag to remove loose shavings, then use masking tape pressed firmly against remaining particles to lift stubborn metal debris. The tape's adhesive pulls shavings away from the magnetic field without scratching the stainless steel.

For heavy accumulation, briefly place the tray in a plastic bag and shake vigorously to dislodge particles, then wipe with degreaser and a microfiber cloth.

Yes, we offer replacement ball detent springs and related components through our customer service department. Contact us with your socket tray model number and we'll provide pricing and ordering information for the specific parts you need.

Most detent repairs take less than five minutes with a small screwdriver to access the spring housing and install the replacement mechanism.

Our tilt bin frames feature mounting holes positioned for vertical stacking when you need to expand storage capacity. Mount the first frame at your preferred height, then position additional frames directly above or below with approximately 1 inch of clearance between units.

Each frame requires independent mounting into wall studs and cannot hang from adjacent frames. Plan stud locations carefully when installing multiple stacked units to ensure proper structural support.
